Heartwood Farm Cottage sits by the Holston River bend near historic Alvarado Station and park. It is also directly on the Virginia Creeper trail by trestle 13; 5 miles to Damascus trail town; 10 miles to historic Abingdon; and 2 miles to Abingdon Vineyard! Guests may hike up the hill and through the forest on Heartwood Farm where they will enjoy the panoramic view of the mountains. Immerse yourself in nature with the songs of the river and all the beauty SW VA offers right outside your door.
The Space
Cozy home with reading area and large front porch overlooking the river. Access the river for tubing, kayaking or fly fishing ! We have 4 Kayaks available for rent $30 each per day. We have a 5 bikes available to ride the trail right from the backyard!
Holston Lake, Greyson Highlands, Hungry Mother State Park, The Channels, S Holston River Dam, Bristol Caverns and much more all nearby
Day trips to Watauga Lake TN, Ashville, Grandfather Mountain, Boone, and Blowing Rock NC and many other attractions in this area within an hour or two.
